He is a combat veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan who brings the same dedication and resilience to his legal practice. Before becoming a lawyer, Zeke served with distinction as a Captain in the United States Army's Armor branch. In support of combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, he led a combined 350+ combat operations, which resulted in the capture of several high-value targets (HVT) and the stability of previously contested areas.
During his last combat deployment, as a Company Commander, Zeke led 160 infantry soldiers whose area of responsibility included three northern provinces in Afghanistan. Zeke was recognized for his exceptional leadership, tactical skills, and strategic skills on the battlefield.

âž» As trial counsel developed a novel legal argument that a non-profit health organization cannot be vicariously liable for employed physicians. The Texas Supreme Court held that a nonprofit health organization cannot be held vicariously liable if exercising its right of control over a physician’s conduct would interfere with that physician’s independent medical judgment. Texas law now provides a clear roadmap for future cases.

âž» Served as jury trial co-counsel in the defense of a physician accused of failing to obtain informed consent for a transhepatic cholangiography (PTC) procedure, resulting in a defense verdict. Tried in the 197th Judicial District Court, Cameron County, Brownsville, Texas.
âž» Served as jury trial co-counsel in the defense of a local hospital against a premises liability claim, resulting in a defense verdict. Tried in the 206th Judicial District Court, Hidalgo County, Edinburg, Texas.

âž» Served as jury trial co-counsel in the defense of a local hospital against allegations of delayed diagnosis of renal cell carcinoma. The case settled after two days of trial for an amount substantially below the plaintiff’s pretrial demand. Tried in the 93rd Judicial District Court, Hidalgo County, Edinburg, Texas.
​➻ Served as jury trial co-counsel in the defense of a physician against claims of delayed diagnosis and treatment of juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, resulting in a defense verdict. Tried in the 347th Judicial District Court, Nueces County, Corpus Christi, Texas.

âž» Served as jury trial co-counsel in the defense of a hospital in a patient fall case involving alleged negligence during a transfer from a hospital bed. The jury returned a plaintiff’s verdict, but awarded substantially less than the amount sought by the plaintiff. Tried in the 430th Judicial District Court, Hidalgo County, Edinburg, Texas.
âž» Successfully argued before the 13th Court of Appeals, which affirmed the judgment of the trial court dismissing the Plaintiff's claims against a hospital client.
âž» Successfully dismissed a temporary employee’s personal injury claim against a temporary employer based on the Texas Workers’ Compensation Act’s exclusive remedy provision in Hidalgo County’s 476th Judicial District Court of Hidalgo County, Texas.
âž» Won dismissal of all claims against a hospital because healthcare liability claims were improperly characterized as premises claims in Hidalgo County's 206th District Court, Texas.
